::: Products / Accessories / Metal, ceramic blades
By metal blades, the probe is soldered to a groove of a metal
carrier. Because of this, stable mechanic guidance, constant contact
force of the needle during the whole life period is provided.
This metal body can be found in various types of design. Per
application the matching height and length of the body is selected.
Metal carriers can be bent relatively easily, when it is necessary
for the probe card fabrication.
The probe material can vary from Tungsten and Tungsten-Rhenium
up to Beryllium-Cupper and Palladium.
The same way as the height of the blade body, also the tip length
and tip diameter can be selected depending on the application
field.
Fabrication of a ceramic blade completely differs from that of
a metal blade. The needle here is soldered separately on a narrow,
tinplated strip on the lower end of the ceramic body. It means,
mechanic guidance here is less, which, certainly, effects stability
of the whole construction.
Besides, ceramic carriers, especially, when they are only 0,010"thick,
are very sensitive towards lateral loading, so they are broken
relatively fast.
Ceramic blades cannot be realized in the same variety, as the
metal ones. Here, on the customer's wish the matching body will
be built, so far it is possible.
